After a minor mistake potentially being a huge problem... half my flights were confirmed but not registered in the system on my itinerary, a long layover in London, and meeting a really sweet English girl that knew nothing about flying or how to enter another country Albania welcomed me on Thursday! Standing in

line to board for the flight to London I was surrounded by accents and different languages. I honestly stopped, smiled and enjoyed the moment as I envisioned people from every tongue, tribe and nation one day singing praises to the Lord. It was a joy to see Bob, Cathy and their son, along with Robert, Jenny, and the kids at the airport when I arrived!! We went and enjoyed food and fellowship back in the city before heading out to the orphanage.
My apartment has three rooms; kitchen/living area, bathroom and bedroom. I unpacked everything and then had the chance to talk to my mother and to Geoffrey before heading to much needed rest. SIDE NOTE: if you are ever traveling abroad.... remember the Tylenol PM!!!
Although I slept in pretty late this morning... I woke to the unexpected!! I have one space heater that will travel with me from room to room over the
next month or so. I brought the heater with me as I went to jump in the shower only to find we didn't have electricity. I knew the outage
s were reality around here but I honestly didn't expect to experience it so soon!!Showering in sections takes longer than anticipated. Although I was blessed to have had hot water!! I later found out that due to repairs during the day the power will not be guaranteed. It had been noticed
it ranges from 930ish to 500ish. For me it is fine.. I would rather be chilly during the day because I can move around than be chilly at night and have trouble sleeping.
I was able to go visit the children today and to see Eno!! He has grown over the last 8 months and it just warmed my heart to see him and play with him some. I learned a little more of his likes and interests and I am thrilled to begin working with him more. I also meet most of the staff this morning at a training session on medical procedures. They all
welcomed me with smiles and blessing of luck over the next few months. I can't wait to work more along side these women!! And so today really began my journey... I thank you for your prayers as I traveled and I'm sorry it has taken so long for me to update you and let you know I made it. Continue praying for me as I experienced today... the language barrier will be difficult but I will strive to learn as much as possible! I ask that you would also pray for the people of Albania... I am reading Abba's Child by Manning and as he was describing Jesus' participation in the strict monotheistic traditions of the Jewish community and how three times a day He would have prayed the Shema Israel, "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one" (Deuteronomy 6:4). I began to think this is the cry for the country of Albania; that they would know the one true God and that He would reign in their lives and the lives of their children. That Albania would be once again a country that declares the Deity and has relationship with the Father. I have written "Hear, O Albania, the Lord your God, the Lord is one" on my mirror and I have decided to pray as Christ did this prayer three times a day over Albania.I ask that you would join me and pray for change.
